• Call for Young Journalists

Our 2026 young journalist programme is open for applications 

Transparency International would like to invite young journalists from all over the world who are passionate about fighting corruption to apply for our 2026 programme.

We have 10 places available for journalists in the early stages of their professional career to join us at the International Anti-Corruption Conference in the Dominican Republic from 1-4 December 2026.

As part of a mentored programme participants will have the chance to join the conference discussions, interview leaders and activists and build their knowledge of the latest trends in the anti-corruption space.

Participants must be proficient in English, under 35 years old, and be prepared to develop at least one report and to secure coverage in a media outlet after the event.

  • Who can apply? 

    Applicants must meet the following criteria:

      • You must be currently working as a journalist, with demonstrable experience of reporting on social, political or economic issues. Journalists from digital, print, broadcast or multimedia backgrounds are all welcome to apply.
      • You must be under 35 years old on 6 December 2026.
      • You must be proficient in English.
      • You must be passionate about fighting corruption and committed to learning more about Transparency International and the issues we work on.

  • What costs are included? 

    The programme includes an economy return flight to Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic and 5 nights’ accommodation plus breakfast, lunch and dinner at the conference hotel (arriving 30 November, departing 5 December 2026). Alcoholic drinks are not included. Transparency International will also reimburse visa processing costs, agreed in advance and on submission of receipts. Any other travel costs are participants’ responsibility.

  • What support will be provided? 

    There will be an online briefing call in advance of the event, and a dedicated point of contact during the event to support participants. We cannot support on pitching or placing media articles.

  • Are there any conditions? 

    Successful participants are expected to develop a report linked to the topics from the conference and to independently pitch it to a media outlet. In addition, participants will be required to adhere to the conditions set out in a terms of reference and code of conduct.

  • I’ve applied before – can I apply again? 

    Yes you may.

  • When will I hear if I’ve been successful? Is there an interview process? 

    Successful applicants will hear from the IACC team via email in July 2026. There is no interview process we will verify the details provided in your application.
