IACC Council

The IACC Council is the governing body of the IACC series.

The Transparency International (TI) Board of Directors with due regard to institutional, professional, and geographic diversity as well as gender and age balance appoint the Chair and Council members.

The IACC Council elects a Vice-Chair from among their members. Council members serve a term of up to six years for three IACC cycles.

Host country application

Transparency International Secretariat (TI-S) explores the possibility of hosting an IACC with interested members of the TI movement and the governments of their respective countries.

  • A TI representative in the country initiate correspondence with the government to explore the interest in hosting the IACC.
  • Interested governments shall provide a letter of intention to TI-S to start the process of negotiation.
  • Submission of formal proposal by the interested host country, signed by the head of a government ministry or entity to curb corruption or boost transparency in the country
  • Final decision is taken by the IACC council.
  • Once the host country is selected, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or official agreement is signed.

The future IACC host county is announced at the closing ceremony of the upcoming IACC.
