Dr. Kim McLear is an author, speaker, and designer who works at the vibrant intersections of the arts, tech, wellbeing, and civic empowerment. Kim is a Black and queer first-generation American who previously served 20 years of distinguished public service as a senior officer in the U.S. Coast Guard. A former professor, engineer, cabinet-level special assistant, and whistleblower, she bravely exposed three of the largest cover-ups of racism, sexual assault, and retaliation in modern U.S. military history. Artist-In-Chief & CEO of Humanity Amplified® Design Studio, Kim works with social change leaders around the world to reimagine social innovation within workplaces, communities, and governments. Music is her design love language. She also enjoys practicing peacebuilding and martial arts philosophies. Kim holds a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from The George Washington University. She is a former State of the Union guest of honor who has been featured in numerous media outlets from CNN to the New York Times, including a CROWN Act cover issue of Glamour Magazine.
