Rajiv Lall is a distinguished leader in global finance with over three decades of experience spanning banking, infrastructure finance, private equity, and capital markets. He is best known for his transformative role as Managing Director and CEO of Infrastructure Development Finance Company (IDFC), which he joined in 2005. Under his leadership, IDFC grew into India’s largest infrastructure finance company and in 2015, he founded and launched IDFC Bank, further strengthening his legacy in building institutions that bridge finance and development.
Mr. Lall currently serves as Chairman of CoST – the Infrastructure Transparency Initiative – a global not-for-profit working with countries to improve lives by enhancing transparency, accountability, and value for money in public infrastructure. Through this role, he champions reforms that strengthen investor confidence and improve infrastructure outcomes worldwide.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Lall held senior positions at leading global financial institutions, including Warburg Pincus in New York, Morgan Stanley in Hong Kong, the World Bank in Washington, DC, and the Asian Development Bank in Manila. He has also advised at the highest levels of public policy, serving on multiple committees of the Government of India and the Reserve Bank of India, and representing India at the G20 Working Group on Infrastructure.
He is also a Distinguished Fellow at Artha Global and a Professional Research Fellow at Singapore Management University.
